Where are classes held?
ABE and GED classes are held in Canton, 800 Randolph Street, in the Blue Hills Regional Technical High School building.
ESOL classes take place in Norwood, 190 Vanderbilt Avenue, in the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce Building.
What days and times are ABE/GED classes held?
Classes take place each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:30 to 9:30.
What days and times do the ESOL classes take place?

How do I sign up for the ABE/GED program?
Call 781-828-5800 x325 to make an appointment to enroll in the GED program.
How do I sign up for the ESOL program?
Call 781-769-5848 and make a appointment to enroll in the ESOL program.
How long is the program?
From September through June.
Do I have to wait until next September to sign up for the programs?
NO! The ABE, GED and ESOL programs all have a rolling admission policy. This means that as soon as a seat is available in the class you need, we will get you in to that class!
What does is cost to participate in the ABE, GED and/or ESOL program?
Nothing!
ABE, GED and ESOL classes are offered free of charge. The programs are funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
What is the GED?
The Tests of General Educational Development (GED tests) enable a person who has not graduated from High School to complete the requirements for a high school diploma.
What is required to pass the GED test?
The GED consists of 5 tests which include: Language Arts, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. All five sub-tests must be passed with a minimum standard score of 410. All five sub-test standard scores must add up to a minimum total of 2250 points. The average sub-test score must be 450 (5 sub-tests divided into 2250).
How do I know that this is a quality program?
All Blue Hills Regional ABE programs follow the guidelines set by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and are regularly monitored by representatives of the DESE.
