The Blue Hills Regional Adult Basic Education/ GED program offers classes which help students gain the skills they need to pass the GED exam and improve their academic and life skills.

GED stands for General Educational Development. Earning a GED diploma is equivalent to earning a high school diploma. To receive a GED, you must pass a written multiple choice test in each of the following areas: writing skills, social studies, science, literature and the arts, and mathematics.

Four levels of classroom instruction are held in Canton, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, during the school year at Blue Hills Regional Technical School.

The program is for adults at varying skill levels, from beginning readers to those preparing for college.

Students benefit from classroom instruction by experienced teachers and the use of computers as they work to improve their reading, math, social studies, and science and writing skills.

In addition to traditional classroom instruction, the ABE/GED program offers educational counseling, computer literacy, field trips, speakers, student leadership opportunities, career exploration, financial literacy, and health education.
