Literacy, GED and ESOL classes are offered free of charge, funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, ten months a year, September through June.
GED classes build skills in the areas of reading, math, science, social studies and writing and are taught in comfortable, small group settings.
English is taught through total immersion to students from many countries who speak numerous languages, also in a comfortable, small group setting.
All classes focus on teaching skills and content using real life situations. As students gain greater proficiency, they achieve greater self-confidence, self-sufficiency, and the ability to contribute and participate in the community and workforce.
We follow the prescribed Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education curriculum.
Blue Hills Adult Basic Education programs (Literacy, GED and ESOL instruction) are a collaborative partnership with Blue Hills Regional Technical School.
