Pennies for Peace - Three Cups of Tea

Three Cups Of Tea.....the story of one man's passion and work to build schools for the children of Pakistan. The students in Susan Haberstroh's class have just finished reading an abridged version of this bestseller. It did not take long for all to be deeply moved and inspired by Greg Mortenson's account of how his failed attempt to reach the summit of K2 led him to his successful attempt to build schools, buy supplies, and pay teachers to educate the children. They decided that they would join the Pennies for Peace campaign and raise money to help in these efforts. They set their goal at $600, the amount needed to pay one teacher for one year. Along with collecting pennies they organized a “snack sale” for one of their class nights. They are well on their way to reaching their goal and are thankful for everyone's generous donations. They are looking forward to listening to the audio version of Mortenson's newest book, Stones Into Schools.
